On Saturday, I went down to Cobra Lounge to see Deal’s Gone Bad. It had been a while, so I was super stoked. They played all the hits and put on a great show. As I was walking out, trying to find Blake, I see this bearded guy who looked really familiar. I then realized it was Kyle Kinane, one of my favorite stand up comedians ever. He was in the middle of talking to someone, so I hung back for a bit.
When he turned around, I kinda freaked and was like, “HI. Can I get your autograph??” and handed him an IHOP receipt and a pen. He (drunkenly) said, “My autograph? That’s kinda weird. Don’t you want to hang out or something?” to which I said, “Yeah, but maybe next time when I’m not freaking out.” He noticed I was wearing my Metro hoodie and we talked about the venue for a bit, then talked about how he’s working putting together the comedy portion for Fest in October. I’m so stoked on it.
Coolest dude. I don’t really freak out over meeting musicians, but apparently comedians are a different story. I still can’t believe it. Best night.
My love for these guys is at an embarrassingly high level.

All I want to do on Sunday is see Vacationer. Is that too much to ask?
Of course the show sold out. Here’s hoping I get a response back from someone I e-mailed on Craigslist. I need to see this goddamn band.
(And the Naked and Famous too, but they’re just a bonus)
Company of Thieves will be doing a *FREE* live acoustic performance
at the apple store lincoln park in Chicago this Friday, April 6th at 6:30PM.
Before the State and Madison show? Let’s do this thing.
The Menzingers at The Beat Kitchen in Chicago on 3/24/2012
Q: How fucking amazing was this show?
A: Really fucking amazing.
Happy 175th birthday to the city I call home. Our weather may be bipolar and our traffic may be migraine inducing, but I deal with it. The sights I see, the friends I make, the music I love…it’s all because of you, Chicago. I never have and never will live anywhere else.
You’re beautiful, baby.
